Exposition of the aspirations, resources, and expertise of African business people living in the Diaspora, the 6th region of the African Union: Their ambitions to do business with and inside Africa and make trusted connections with governments, established investors, and link in the private sectors across the regions of Africa. Also, existing relationships between African businesses in specific Diaspora countries with Africa and their past endeavours, experiences, challenges and successes engaging the continent.
How businesses in Africa are supporting African businesses in the Diaspora to access and enter their business communities in their chosen African markets, and the role that private sector representative bodies could play to partner and strengthen Diaspora business presence in their economies: And support systems available to mentor Diaspora businesses once they enter African markets to make them a sustainable part of the culture and fabric of Corporate Africa.
The African Diaspora constitutes the sixth region of the African Union comprising of African Americans, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latin Americans, Black Canadians and Afro-Europeans. These regions have specific political and cultural variables, with businesses having a diversity of SMEs and major corporations. How to increase corporate capacity by adding businesses in the sixth region into corporate and business infrastructure in Africa to exploit all the benefits and surrounding opportunities to generate more opportunities for the 6 Regions – should be a major goal of the regions forming Corporate Africa. Focus should be on issues such as the type and structure of businesses in the sixth region, incentives to engage and integrate them into the five other regions, and the role of governments, business representatives and global investors in the process.
What are the skills, know how, and resources of the private sector in East Africa and to what degree could they be exploited to partner initiatives, projects, and programs to support SMEs entering their markets from the Diaspora.
Key growth industries across East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia) – Digital technology, tourism, agriculture processing, renewable energy, human capital, healthcare and leisure – And what sectors and niches offer opportunities for SMEs and businesses from the Africa Diaspora to enter and exploit.

What Role could the private sector play in the 6-Regions to leverage businesses in the African Diaspora Businesses ( 6th AU Region) to enable greater access into mainstream Corporate East Africa Community – destinations and markets of their choice: Representatives from East Africa’s private sector and investors to address issues about relocating and restructuring businesses from the 6th region into corporate East Africa: Includes discussions about the role that the private sector’s commerce and trade played in the displacement of Africans from Africa into the 6th Region and the role that they should now play to effect a successful relocation and reintegration of African Diaspora businesses into Africa’s corporate infrastructure.
Opening remarks by the Chairperson, outlining the 3rd day’s goals and objectives and introducing the workshops and country tours including a tour of Tanzania, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, content and times of departure.
Workshop One – African Diaspora Women Entrepreneurs:
Showcasing and discussing innovative successful businesses started and operated by women inside the African regions; the industry sectors, markets, countries, and plans to engage, access and partner like-minded women-owned businesses in the Diaspora to connect and integrate the opportunities and infrastructure. The Workshop offers delegates an opportunity to engage successful African women entrepreneurs about, their business, business plans and project finance, partnerships and collaborations in the regions.
Focus on key business sectors across East Africa including property, agriculture, tourism, tech, and finance: Also exposition of Estate Agents real estate portfolio, and their packages available for sales in the three featured destination countries. Videos of residential housing projects will also be shown and One 2 One meetings to discuss individual needs, prospective deals and match make.
Focus on Connecting visiting African Diaspora businesses with established businesses from the 6th Region already trading in East Africa, for sharing of information and experiences, and advice about how to engage and partner with businesses from the five other regions on the continent and potential challenges ahead especially pertaining to markets, business environments, government regulations, and economy issues.
Discussions about models including social media, personal connections, and connectivity that could be exploited for sustainable networking and remaining connected and informed about developments in all the six regions of Africa to generate confidence, empowerment and transparency to increase know-how, and better language and cultural understanding to navigate new opportunities and markets.
