Africa Diaspora Businesses in the 6th AU Region

The African Diaspora constitutes the sixth region of the African Union comprising of African Americans, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latin Americans, Black Canadians and Afro-Europeans. These regions have specific political and cultural variables, with businesses having a diversity of SMEs and major corporations. How to increase corporate capacity by adding businesses in the sixth region into corporate and business infrastructure in Africa to exploit all the benefits and surrounding opportunities to generate more opportunities for the 6 Regions – should be a major goal of the regions forming Corporate Africa. Focus should be on issues such as the type and structure of businesses in the sixth region, incentives to engage and integrate them into the five other regions, and the role of governments, business representatives and global investors in the process.

Workshop One – African Diaspora Women Entrepreneurs:

Showcasing and discussing innovative successful businesses started and operated by women inside the African regions; the industry sectors, markets, countries, and plans to engage, access and partner like-minded women-owned businesses in the Diaspora to connect and integrate the opportunities and infrastructure. The Workshop offers delegates an opportunity to engage successful African women entrepreneurs about, their business, business plans and project finance, partnerships and collaborations in the regions.

Workshop Two – Business Investors Forum

Focus on key business sectors across East Africa including property, agriculture, tourism, tech, and finance: Also exposition of Estate Agents real estate portfolio, and their packages available for sales in the three featured destination countries. Videos of residential housing projects will also be shown and One 2 One meetings to discuss individual needs, prospective deals and match make.

Workshop Three – African Diaspora-African Exchange

Focus on Connecting visiting African Diaspora businesses with established businesses from the 6th Region already trading in East Africa, for sharing of information and experiences, and advice about how to engage and partner with businesses from the five other regions on the continent and potential challenges ahead especially pertaining to markets, business environments, government regulations, and economy issues.

Discussions about models including social media, personal connections, and connectivity that could be exploited for sustainable networking and remaining connected and informed about developments in all the six regions of Africa to generate confidence, empowerment and transparency to increase know-how, and better language and cultural understanding to navigate new opportunities and markets.
